What we do

In partnership with Intervarsity MBA Ministry, Coram Deo Consulting

undertakes volunteer consulting projects with Christian organizations (eg, missionary organizations) and Christian businesses around the world. The projects involve teams of 4-6 business school students (MBA or Ph.D) and 1-2 facilitators, and last for 4-6 weeks.  The client funds operational costs (eg, local housing, phone lines). Team participants have normally raised funds for air fare and food.

These engagements are designed to match the particular skills, interests, training and vocational call of graduate business students with the needs of Christian organizations and businesses around the world.

What participants can expect from the experience

Team participants get a glimpse of how God is working through business to accomplish his mission in the world.  Participants are encouraged to think about how to integrate faith with work, and how to contribute to building Kingdom businesses.

The engagements provide students with a rich learning and career-building experience. Students have the opportunity to apply business education to a real-life setting. It is an opportunity for a diverse team of business students to integrate the concepts they’ve acquired in business school. Because the project focuses on real problems, project scopes are typically multi-disciplinary and are considerably broader than that of a typical internship.  Finally, students have the opportunity to experience living and working in a cross-cultural environment.  Project participants have built lasting relationships with peers who share the same vision and interests.  By interacting with senior leaders in the client organizations, students also have the opportunity to find models and mentors for their professional and personal lives.

Christian organizations and businesses leverage the business talents and knowledge of the consulting teams, which they otherwise could not afford. Our clients benefit from an external un-biased analysis of the organization, and gain new ideas about how to grow and strengthen business operations.  At the same time, our clients stimulate Coram Deo Consulting team members with insights on how business could interact with faith, to God’s glory.
